Day 1 - San José

Arrive San José, Costa Rica with meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight: Hotel Real Intercontinental (deluxe room)

Day 2 - Tortuguero

Early morning land and boat transfer to Tortuguero, passing through Braulio Carrillo National Park and stopping en route for breakfast. Arrive in Tortuguero in time for lunch. This afternoon you may choose to experience the local culture, walk nature trails or just relax by the pool. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included this day Overnight Mawamba Lodge – 2 nights

Day 3 - Tortuguero National Park by Boat

This morning, explore the smaller canals of Tortuguero National Park in special boats designed for better visibility to get a close look at the jungle vegetation, and wildlife. This afternoon visit Tortuguero Village and the Caribbean Conservation Museum. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included this day.

Day 4 - Arenal Volcano & Tabacon Hot Springs Resort

Early breakfast then boat out of Tortugero. Lunch stop then land transfer to Arenal Volcano area and Tabacon Hot Springs Resort. Relax and enjoy the natural hot mineral pools and waterfalls. Breakfast and lunch included this day. Overnight Tabacon Grand Spa (superior room) – 2 nights

Day 5 - Arenal Adventure

Selected Half-Day Tours (included in rate) Breakfast included this day. Choose Your Adventures for Today (select two) Arenal Hike Old Lava Flow Trails - On this outing you may possibly observe the exotic inhabitants of Arenal National Park including toucans, monkeys, oropendolas, eyelash viper, boa and frogs. You will also have the opportunity to see lava paths, cross a stream and if conditions permit, you may catch a glimpse of a shower of bright volcanic rocks. (3.5 hours)

Day 6 - Land, boat and land transfer to Monteverde

Take the fastest way to/from La Fortuna and Monteverde. Half tour, half transfer, a van picks you up early in the morning and drives you to Arenal dam, where you take a 30- to 40-minute scenic ride aboard a comfortable and safe pontoon on Arenal Lake to Rio Chiquito. Drive (approx. 3 hours) to the village of Monteverde. The transfer to Monteverde includes an afternoon coffee and sugar cane plantation tour. Breakfast included this day. Day 7 - Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Take a guided tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, rising nearly 5000 feet into misty skies. The most famous wildlife spot in Costa Rica, Monteverde features thousands of bird, plant, and mammal species, including the rare and resplendent quetzal and 420 varieties of orchid. The afternoon is free to explore on your own. Breakfast is included this day.

Day 8 - Depart Costa Rica or add on Optional Manuel Antonio extension

Transfer back to San Jose International Airport for departure. Please book return flight for afternoon departure. Transfer time from Monteverde to the San Jose airport is approximately 3.5 hours. Breakfast is included this day.
